Thanks to diverse habitats and a favorable location on the border with Mexico, Arizona has 18 recorded species of hummingbirds. The majority of these are found in the southeastern corner of the state, but 4 - Anna's, Black-chinned, Costa's, and Broad-tailed - are widespread summer or permanent residents.
