Family: Snapdragon (Scrophulariaceae)
Plant size: 18" - 40" high in bloom Seasonality: evergreen in all climates
6" - 30" wide
Flower color: bright pink Growth rate: moderate; typically blooms in second spring from seed
Flower size: 1/2" wide, 1" long Hardiness: 15 degrees F.
Bloom period(s): one per year, Spring/Dry Season (March-May) Light needs: full sun
Habitat: dry washes in desert habitats, road edges, dry sunny slopes up to the edges of oak woodland Soil type: well drained
Moisture needs: low - extremely drought tolerant, but moisture in winter and early spring promotes flowering
Distribution:

Cochise, Gila, Pinal, Pima, Santa Cruz; also northern Sonora, poss. southwestern NM

Growing tips: Buy mature plants or grow from seed refrigerated in moist sand or soil for at least 1 month. Plant with cacti, yuccas, Desert Marigold, Mexican Gold Poppy.
