BRIDLED TITMOUSE Baeolophus wollweberi (photo by Sheri Williamson) This charming resident of southeastern Arizona's oak woodlands is a favorite with birders. It can be found year-round in most of the "sky island" mountain ranges as well as less commonly in lowland riparian areas. It is the only member of its family in most of southeastern Arizona's the mountain ranges but shares the Chiricahua Mountains with the Mexican Chickadee and Juniper (Plain) Titmouse and the Santa Catalina Mountains with the Mountain Chickadee. It is regularly seen at SABO's Banning Creek Field Station and on Canyon Walks. |
